Alec Troniq presents two fresh cheery tracks: In “Rueffel” he’s piping, drumming berserk and doing echoism. A sweet remix is delivered by Stereo Express from Atmosphere / Burlesque, well-known for their bombs “Shadoorack” and “La Vie En Rose”. On B1 Alec crashes a russian wedding, kidnaps “Ljudmila” and entrains her to his own spring meadows. The groover on B2 is remixed by a guy named Bunched – cutting, stomping and constantly stepping forward. As a bonus there’s a digital only “Behende Version” of the title track: more rave, less gadgets – with a free download code enclosed to the vinyl! (Alec Troni SC, 2012)

Ruede Hagelstein // Shades

The slat blinds in Berlin’s Panorama Bar are part of the VJ’s equipment, and when the mood is right (usually around Sunday afternoon), he opens them up to allow slices of sunshine to penetrate the smoky club air. It doesn’t happen all too often, remaining something special amongst hours of darkness. But as Ruede played the first version of ‘Shades’ in his last P-Bar set, it seemed to happen just for him, as if he had written this track’s distinct break especially for this moment: everyone was mesmerized. Re.You & Rampa in the RMX for ‘Shades’ are also no strangers to such euphoria, and as Ruede recently lent them his voice, they return the favor by building a robust, custom-made bass mobile for the A2. Then, on the B-side, Ruede’s fellow band members from ‘The Noblettes’ make an appearance. As with ‘Shades’, the focal point is also the big break, only this one has nothing to do with techno – it’s more of an indie-house ballad with dance ambition. Shadow Child EP

Just having wrapped up the epic HATCHED compilation we roll right into the first original EP of the year. It seems like we’ve been blessed because Shadow Child has delivered an incredibly strong debut release. “String Thing” was given to me with support by Eats Everything and I’ve already seen it completely rip up several rooms on tour last month.
I thought that was going to be the A-side killer and then “Rustic Chip” came in which i think could possibly be even better. The production style is kind of like old school Solid Groove meets drum n bass and i’m really digging this record. Super-fat, well-mixed sounds put in all the right places, this stuff really works.
