With this EP Jochem Peterson is showing a new side of himself. Through cooperation with different artists of the Atmosphere label a powerful tech house release was created. Stereo Express are known for their ‘Gypsy Ride’ hit, Beazar is the coproducer of Leesa, Ishtar is a dj with one of the busiest agendas in Belgium and Andreas Black is taking his first steps as a tech house producer. With plenty of drive and musical genius these tracks are ready to shape the perfect vibe in any club or festival.

Our Sub-Label “Sweet & Sour Series” likes to introduce new artists that we have discovered when digging through our boxes of demos. So here we have Marcus Gehring with the catalog number UYS006. He fits in with Upon You like vodka shots at an after hour. His funky and trippy sound grooves until sunrise and that’s the way we like it. It doesn’t matter whether it’s the title track „On A Trip“ on A1 or „In Between“ on the flipside with it’s bouncy bass line. For the digital dessert we are served with „I Can’t Give Up“, with which he shows us that his love and passion for the music will definitely produce more good things in the future. We can’t wait. Here are two giveaways from TrockenSaft in collaboration with De Wachtkamer. Check out their pdj page for more goodies. Below are some words from them about these two tracks. Also tune in to German Journey – a recent mixtape.
The result of work of two projects from different parts of the world will satisfy people who love rough german sound and sunshining African dancing on the sand. Juicy and aggressive sound of the track “apa mor de” takes u to the dark streets of cold Europe, and “come back” drops u to the heat of the east and makes u dream about the summer.
Tafsiri is the Swahili (Kenyan lingua franca) word for translation and interpretation in the linguistic and lyrical sense. Sauntering down the trail blazed by Theo Parrish – who reworked ‘Wires’ with signature swagger – is another kindred spirit and Worldwide heavyweight – Quantic – who nudges ‘Doyoi Nyajo Nam’ firmly, but sensitively, towards club dancefloors via a monstrous Afro-funky groove packing XXL drums and rib-rattling bass. The original Owiny jam has become a Worldwide favourite… Quantic’s rerub ups its status to “Summer Festival Anthem”.
The flip sees Owiny Sigoma Band co-founders Jesse Hackett (keys) and Tom Skinner (drums) tweaking ‘Margaret Okudo’ and ‘Owegi Owandho’ respectively: Jesse flipping 80s drum machine hits, heavily dubbed vocals and FX on the former to forge a delightfully loose-fitting, percussive groove; whilst Skinner transforms Joseph Nyamungu’s virtuoso nyatiti/vocal solo into a gloriously skittery freeform bass jam.
Out on Brownswood Recordings July 11, 2011! Tune in below..
